This product was created as part of a second year university project/assignment called accessible.
The brief was to ‘Research, design, develop and launch an accessible product for older adults (+65 years) that addresses an ageing challenge. Ideally, the product you design should be portable.’
The aim of the project was to research, design, develop, and launch a product, and build an appearance prototype that aids users with a disability or some type of performance limitation, using mostly 3D printing technology. There was also a focus on maximising the number of potential customers who can readily use the product. The condition that I chose to focus on was Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease, and I decided to improve upon an existing product design, the Liftware™ spoon.
